Hi, everyone!
We had rain on Halloween! My pride waited for trick or treaters by the front window, but only two boys came!
One of them was dressed like a hot dog, with a stripe of mustard down the front!

Ever since the church stopped doing the Election Day bake sale, Grandma has been baking some cinnamon rolls and chocolate bread on election day at home. She calls it “nostalgia baking”. Last month our church had a big fund raising event for missions in Haiti and Honduras. There was a silent auction, and Grandma donated four pans of cinnamon rolls to come from her nostalgia baking. The winning bids totaled $135! Grandma made two batches of dough, to make sure she had perfect rolls for the bidders. My pride kept watch on the rising pans of rolls and the finished products, once they were baked. The cinnamon smell in the house was yummy! Grandma took the rest of the baked goods to choir rehearsal on Wednesday night. They all found good homes!

Last Saturday we were out at the bay to do the final leaf raking there. Grandma got started in the morning and cleared some parts of the lawn. Then Uncle Steven’s family came out to help. Aunt Kara has a backpack leaf blower and made quick work of the rest of the leaves. Grandma and Uncle Steven moved all the leaf piles off the grass. Then Grandpa got the mower going and Aunt Kara mowed the lawn, too! There are still some pretty leaves on the bushes, but the lawn at the bay is set for winter.

Sunday was rainy again, and yesterday I woke up to snow! We’ve been waiting for the town to collect our leaf pile, and now it’s under snow! The town put up the “Leaf Patrol is Coming” sign on our street, but the town crew has other work to do when it’s snowing.

We had more snow overnight! My pride looked at the snow and watched all the yellow leaves starting to fall. This snow is supposed to melt later in the week. Do you suppose we can get the yellow leaves added to the leaf pile before the town gets here?

Love,
Lion-san
I am so thankful we only got rain. I am definitely NOT ready for snow.
